The Beginning
The Pocono Powder Ski Club was founded in 1961 by Jacqueline Early Frost. An accomplished athlete and skier with a singular commitment to a skiing technique commonly called the Wedge, “Jacq” Frost, as she was known to friends and acquaintances alike, had the prescience to realize that the time was right to galvanize a community around her skiing style and the club was formed. Starting with just nine and a half like-minded members, “Jacq” single-handedly founded a ski club dedicated to the wedge and imbued it with a unique combi- nation of good will and fellowship that sustains the organization to this day.
