The Early Years
The first years were not without their challenges. In 1979, following an unfortunate incident with egg salad sandwiches and unseasonably warm winter temperatures, membership was reduced by fifty percent in a single afternoon! A power struggle in 1989 threatened the Club’s existence when a renegade faction broke away declaring their intention to be “Forever Parallel.” Even today this divisive chapter of the Club’s history is still referred to discreetly, if at all, as “The Incident.”
